@adivunsolicited: Replying to @Dssdxx We say “the Holocaust” like there’s only ever been one. There have been many, Germany’s first was in Namibia, the genocide of the Herero and Nama, and it gets no museum, no remembrance day, no mention. Even the story we WERE taught leaves out four other victim groups: Romani people, disabled and mentally ill people, gay people, and Black German children in the Rhineland. Then go west. Up to 90% of Indigenous people in the Americas, gone within 150 years. Not one country in this hemisphere is majority-led by the people who were here first. Then the transatlantic slave trade. 12-14 million Africans trafficked, millions dead in the Middle Passage, 300+ million descendants across the Americas today. Then British India. Nearly two centuries of engineered famine. 60 million dead by some estimates. Policy, not drought. This was never a competition for whose pain matters more. It’s a pattern. One group’s grief gets curated into permanence, everyone else’s gets filed under “also happened.” That’s not history being incomplete by accident. That’s the design. So when you comment “we can’t compare atrocities,” I never did. I named who gets remembered and who gets erased. Sit with why that made you uncomfortable. #holocaust #BlackTikTok #nativetiktok #india #History

This dichotomy is reinforced and maintained by the refusal to acknowledge the history of Africans and indigenous peoples before Europeans encountered them.

What King Leopold did to the Congo surpasses even the Holocaust.

Thank you for including India in the conversation. Very often overlooked, particularly here in the US because how well the diaspora is doing. Still deserves the acknowledgment and gravitas you beautifully shared it with.

They reminded us loud and clear when the Russia Ukraine war started. They said, "this isn't some third world country" "These are people like us"

I can list a dozen roughly comparable atrocities from the 20th century off the top of my head and only 2 of them are in Europe. I like history but I'm not a historian. Your videos on this are outstanding, and enraging.

The comments on your prev vids (esp that Argentina one 🙄) asking for ‘sources’ really irked me, bc its not like scholars or news outlets were scrambling to get the viewpoints of black and indigenous ppl for centuries. The ones in power get to choose whose story they want to broadcast. The oppressor doesnt care abt the viewpoint of who they’re oppressing. So when asking for ‘sources’, who’s widely publishing about anti-blackness? And that somehow the word of the ppl who have lived through these atrocities who are currently still alive don’t matter because it’s not a ‘published source’ 🙄 And the fact that ppl are still getting married on plantations is mind boggling. But the riot they would cause if ppl got married in Auschwitz would be insane.

Thank you. I learn so much from your posts. It is impossible to fathom the numbers of people who have died because of white supremacy.
