Jackie hatched 10 eaglets and 8 survived and fledged. $10.5 million was raised in her family's name and she saved Big Bear from developers. She brought us all together for a minute. That's a legacy. Fly high sweet girl - thank you for sharing your life with us! It meant so much! 😢

RIP the way I gasped at the news. I really thought she’d pull through. Poor Shadow. I hope they put her where he can see and grieve her for a bit so there isn’t an unknown for him. 🥺

💔 I cant watch anymore anytime soon. This fierce Eagle raised more money for wildlife, petitions, fought off land developers to keep their habitat. She is known in multiple countries. She has shown us amazing loyalty, braveness, fierceness, brilliance, snd beauty! There will never be another animal that will have this emotional affect on soo many people who grew to love her!!! When I prayed for her, I reminded God of all the things she has done that surpassed any expectation one might think that this female Eagle could do. I was given grace by him as I knew he was not going to save her, it was her time to go!! It will be a long time before her memory fades for many people. Its heartbreaking to lose her! I hope a statue is done there of her, showing her magnificence. She has earned AT LEAST that!!😪

I never thought this would happen myself. I had high hopes she would survive this crucial moment in her life. Today, as I tuned into social media to read the passing of Jackie broke my heart in two. So devastated and sad and sad for Shadow. I’ve been crying on/off all day and boy it sucks royally. Love you my friend. Sending you lots of hugs and comfort. Fly high Jackie. You’ll be forever missed, remembered, and loved by so many including me😓💔🦅

This hurts… I can’t stop crying.. I know it makes no sense.. but it was the hope of true love and devotion you saw in them both 💔 the building of the nest and all the care for all their babies , the love you could see and feel through their eyes for one another… I feel a little broken right now 💔!!

They shouldve just let her go home and let nature take its course... not continue to treat her as a experiment, I really dont believe they helped her at all.. she just got worse and worse once they started pumping her with meds 💔

I'm devastated, but ultimately I think things happen for a reason. Because of Jackie and the amount of love people have/had for her brought amazing things. Big Bear was saved, the raptor center brought in money to help so many birds and more. Also there is another eagle in the area, maybe in a way Jackie sent her for Shadow 🥹. In the end, Jackie made things amazing ❤️

She spent her last weeks locked in a cage, unable to fly free… and that thought breaks my heart. 🦅💔 She couldn’t see Shadow, or her Sandy and Luna, and I can only imagine how lonely and confusing those final weeks must have felt for her.

To the men and women who poured their hearts out trying to save Jackie please don’t be hard on yourselves. You did everything you could for her. Shadow and his babies need you guys more than ever. Shadow lost his best friend and there babies lost a mom.
