67 days sober. Figured out that when I get anxious and stressed, hiking helps me. Knocked out 16 miles yesterday and felt amazing afterwards. Hiking is my replacement for a drink

10 days sober after 5 years of 3-4 drinks, 5 days a week. Praying, waking 3-4 miles a day and drinking water. Body still feels funky.

Aka, get a routine, eat healthy and make amends with any grudges you may have. Basically eliminate any excuse

The hard thing is, I don't want to drink, like I don't, but that's the only way i've been taught to handle stress and all that throughout my life, my dad would drink every day all day, I grew up around that. And so it just became a normal, and i'm trying to quit. But it's like every time I get stressed. I was sober for 5 days and then I had a vodka, red bull, and then turned into a budweiser, and then twisted tea, not in the same day. One a day and then I just went downhill a day. I don't know how to stick with it. I don't know like another coping thing. I don't talk to anyone so I can't call anyone. Anyone have any advice

So I'm a counselor for substance abuse patients and I thank you so much for the way you explain things. This is exactly what I try to convey. Simply staying sober isn't it. You have to actually get healthy and change things or you'll just continue down the same cycle. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Exactly. Drinking wasn't the problem. It was the solution. The real problems were why I was drinking. Same for us all
