I will be donating to Ojai thanking them for their care of Jackie. I will also be donating to a local wildlife rescue in honor of Jackie. I hope others are able to do the same. Let’s continue her legacy and give other bald eagles a chance of rehab and release. Fly free beautiful, Jackie! 💔🦅

Spending the last 3 years watching Jackie has been so incredible. I truly believe she and Sandy helped give us one final gift and that was saving Moon Camp. And I can only hope that Sandy was waiting for her when she crossed the rainbow bridge. We will all miss her so much. Fly high Jackie. We will never forget you. 😢

This is so heartbreaking. I am devastated 💔 beyond belief. I am sad for Shadow. Goodbye Jackie. What an iconic representation of a strong stunning eagle for this country. They say that bald eagles will hide their sickness for such a long time. It takes so long for them to appear noticeably sick to others. She was probably pushing through until the babies would be OK without her. 🥺💔

Haven’t cried since my mom died over 20 years ago—until today. Jackie and shadow got me through some dark days. No matter what, could always count on being able to watch them, forget my problems for a bit, and see there’s still something beautiful out there.

I lost my husband to cancer in the spring of 2024, I started watching the nest as it was the only thing I could really watch on TV. I was numb, lost and devastated. These birds were my therapy, watching them daily. It puts things into perspective...at the end of the day all you need is shelter, food, good health and love. Jackie and Shadow and their offspring had all of that until she got sick. It brought up so many emotions of my hubby getting sick and dying. I never gave up hope on him and I never did with Jackie. Today's news has shook me. I'm devastated and heartbroken, especially for her mate. I know he will move forward as we don't have any other choice. But Jackie was his one true love, his soulmate. Fly high sweet girl, I will never forget you and the lives you changed 🦅💔
