@maymoves: fun fact: marshmallows were originally made from… marshmallow root 🌿 the marshmallow plant (Althaea officinalis) gives a naturally thick, mucilaginous root. I love using her as a binder for my incense. ❤️ I’ve been loving learning the old, simple ways plants were used beyond just teas + tinctures. Sooooo watch me make some gifts for my homegirls 🪷 HERBAL INCENSE CONES 🌿 2 tbsp dried sage 💜 1 tbsp dried lavender 🤎 1 tsp cinnamon 🌱 1 tbsp marshmallow root powder 🍯 ½–1 tsp honey 💧 cold water, added slowly Grind the sage + lavender as finely as possible, then mix with the cinnamon and marshmallow root powder. Add the honey, then add cold water a few drops at a time, mixing and kneading until it becomes a moldable dough. Marshmallow root releases its mucilage really well with cold water, which helps everything bind together. Shape into small cones and let them dry completely.. usually a few days in the sun depending on their size and humidity. You want them completely dry before burning. (You can also put them in the oven on super super low) Mmmmm!! Plants are so much cooler when you start learning what they can actually do. 🧝♀️🪽 Save for your next craft day #homemadeincense #naturallifestyle #herbalist #diyproject
