Space is the new wild west. Before they make regulations countries will probably let their greed show to claim parts of space and the floating resources granted they have the technology to harvest it and bring it home relatively safely. When space debris starts hindering the harvesting process by destroying equipment, then it will be addressed. Not qualified to comment. Just jaded and books like Dune often.

The main reason we haven’t found any life yet is we essentially have sampled a Dixie cup’s worth of water out of all the water on our planet. We just aren’t at scale yet to even come remotely close to finding life. If we’re the only life we know of in this same sample, just figure how much time we will continue to spend looking for life.
