KwaZulu-Natal has recorded heavy snowfall around Underberg, Kokstad, Matatiele and the Sani Pass, with some roads becoming difficult or impassable. In the Western Cape, snow has been reported around the Franschhoek Pass, Hex River mountains and Swartberg. The Swartberg Pass has been closed due to severe winter conditions. High-lying areas of the Eastern Cape, Free State and Lesotho are also experiencing snow and extremely cold temperatures. There is a possibility of snow in parts of Gauteng, including Johannesburg, although widespread snowfall is not guaranteed. In Mpumalanga, the main concern is the bitterly cold weather and possible wintry conditions in higher-lying areas. Dullstroom, Sabie, Graskop and the escarpment are among areas that could experience particularly cold conditions.
