This crap is almost $7 a lb where I live and it’s the CHEAPEST. Not everyone has the money to buy from a butcher. She got 15 meals out of that I think she said. That $50ish dollars would hardly get her anything from a butcher. You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

I buy Aldi grass fed beef that’s already in one pound square sealed packages that can go right in the freezer. It’s usually on sale for $5.99 at pound. 85% lean. It is really good high quality meat. No mess no bags and I just stack it in the freezer.

One way I have been making a difference, is using GV Italian Sausage (Less than $4 lb) for almost anything. Except like Tacos. But spaghetti/pasta, chili, meatloaf, pretty much everything honestly. It's delicious, adds flavor and is several dollars cheaper than hamburger meat.

I buy the 1 pound ground beef/ground pork it's like 3 something at Walmart so way cheaper and goes longer . no one ever notices

Great ideas! I add beans and/or diced potatoes to ground meat to stretch it. It works well for taco, sloppy joes, and so on.

Do you find that hamburger in these tubes has a lot of water in it? That’s how they get it to be cheaper? I found this to be true and I won’t buy it anymore.

I scramble 20 lbs at a time and then let it drain and then completely cool. Pack into freezer bags It is so wonderful when I am in a hurry and pull one of those out and stick in the microwave to defrost for a little bit and have it ready for my meal. It is a time saver for sure
