We explored Acadia + Bar Harbor and this is pretty much exactly how we’d do it again: 🥾 Dorr Mountain Ladder Trail — Definitely a workout. The ladders make this one a little more exciting than your average hike. 🦞 Bar Harbor — We grabbed ice cream at Mount Desert Island Ice Cream, cookies from The Bite, pizza at Rosalie’s, and lunch at The Thirsty Whale Tavern. 🍰 Momo’s Cheesecake — Get ALL of the cheesecake. It’s open 24/7 and works on an honor system. There are an insane amount of flavors to choose from. 🥾 Beach Mountain Fire Trail — A really pretty hike that was short and sweet with beautiul views at the top and you can climb partially up an old fire tower. 🐝 Beehive Trail — You’re climbing up exposed rock and using iron rungs to get to the top, but the views are incredible. This is considered one of the most dangerous hikes in Acadia. 💦 Thunder Hole — Go when the tide is right and you might get that huge BOOM from the waves crashing into the rocks. But beware.. it gets PACKED. 🦭 Otter Point — One of our favorite spots to slow down and take in the coastline. And keep an eye out for seals! 🚙 Park Loop Road — Honestly, just driving this road is an experience. There are tons of places to pull over and explore along the way. 🍓 Jordan Pond Restaurant — Stop for yummy popovers with butter and jam. Make a reservation during the day because it does get busy, or you can get grab and go style. 🌉 Bar Island Land Bridge — When the tide goes out, you can literally walk across to Bar Island from Bar Harbor. Just pay attention to the tide schedule because you do not want to get stranded out there. 😂 🌅 Cadillac Mountain at sunset — We hiked up for sunset and it was the perfect way to end the day. The views over Acadia are unreal. ⛺️ Timberland Acres RV Park — Our home base! Huge full-hookup sites, heated pool, playground, arcade, dog park, basketball, golf cart rentals + activities. There’s also The Tavern for food, drinks + live music, so you don’t even have to leave the campground after a long day exploring SAVE this for your Maine trip! 🦞
