@meghannmcuniff: Lindsay Clancy's lawyer asked her psychiatrist today about what Clancy's husband said about her mental health condition in the months before she killed her three young children.Patrick Clancy said his wife "wasn't doing well" and "it might have been his opinion was that it was related to when she started the Seroquel," said Jennifer Tufts in cross-examination this morning (Monday, August 10, day 10). "He basically said you guys are turning her into a zombie, right?" asked Kevin Reddington, a licensed attorney in Massachusetts since 1975. "I don't have that written. He may have said that," Tufts answered. "Does that kind of hit you, though? You might remember that. You might have been, as some people worry about suicide, you might be thinking in your brain that he did say you're turning her into a zombie. It's possible?" Reddington asked. "It's very possible," Tufts answered. Reddington emphasized that Clancy scheduled an appointment with Tufts shortly after she left McLean Hospital psychiatric ward, where she stayed for 4 1/2 days. "That was a pretty, a pretty big deal that she was in McLean's locked wards for four and a half days, right?" Reddington asked. "Yes," Tufts answered. "She's your patient, and she's really gone downhill bad, right?" Reddington asked. "No, she wasn't doing well," Tufts answered. "And she admitted herself to the locked wards at McLean, right?" Reddington asked. "Yes," Tufts answered. "What was the diagnosis at McLean?" Reddington asked. "I believe they diagnosed her with major depression," Tufts answered. "Did they recommend any medication?" Reddington asked. "They took her off of the Seroquel," Tufts answered. Clancy, 35, is charged with three counts of murder for strangling her three young children in her home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, on Jan. 24, 2023. Her defense is that she's not guilty by reason of insanity because she was in a postpartum psychosis when she killed the children. Clancy's trial involves serious mental health issues and could distress some or many people. If you or someone you know needs help, you can call or text 988 to speak to a trained crisis counselor. In one question, her lawyer makes Lindsey sound like a very responsible, capable, and honest woman. Then, seconds later, he portrays her like a young child who needed constant reassurance and a hug from her doctor, as if her doctors were supposed to go behind her back, check up on her, and somehow figure out what she wasn’t telling them. You can’t have it both ways.

I’m not a mental healthcare professional but if someone said that they are having some suicidal thoughts, that is an EMERGENCY!! 😳

The whole television thing for the telehealth appts made me annoyed and I do believe the insanity defense: however after watching, I don’t feel tufts was to blame. It was just the perfect storm of multiple providers, Lindsay not staying in patient (in retrospect was needed and she could’ve figured out the correct med and rested) and possible her illness worsening bc she never gave any med long enough to work. It’s so sad and there are no winners. I couldn’t vote guilty but I also cannot blame these psychiatrists

Reddington is an excellent lawyer and showing the indifference of the mental health system. I, for one, can see that if you are suicidal, you are on your own. Horrible.

when you work with mental illness a soonest the patient state “ want to her my self” or “don’t feel safe” even if is from the notes from the ER and you doing a follow up assessment , automatically means that you as mandated reporter if they didn’t do their job you obligated to contact department of family and children share what the patient said . Request a emergency order called 51A which will help the social workers to do a wellness check also she was supposed to request the state of Mass for a emergency section, when that happened the patient get admitted against or even sometimes with their will to a hospital like Tewksbury or McLain or even Nh state hospital then she gets an acute stabilization and a discharge planing with a plan for her to get back in her regular life HOWEVER THIS DOCTOR DIDN’T CARE ENOUGH TO DO ALL THIS STEPS 😢

i can’t believe he was trying to say the psychiatrist should have gone behind Lindsay’s back and called her parents and other family members. Lindsay is a grown woman, that would be so inappropriate and unethical. Reddington really wants the doctors to be her baby sitter and treat her like a child

Why the fuck should a psychiatrist who has probably 100 clients a week go out of her way to ask family members how she’s doing. He’s a terrible lawyer he thinks Lindsay was her only client. Also the way he tries to blame the death of the kids at the psychiatrist. Also the way he’s so aggressive with her is insane

Umm, so we aren’t gonna talk about how lindsay took weed gummies apparently for sleep which made her feel worst. Now defense said she only took one but lets be fr we will never know. Also she started serequol two weeks after that. Weed gummies can make so many people even normal people feel like they are going to die. But ofc it was dr’s fault but not knowing this information too right?! 💀 also lawyer statement contradicting to himself he said lindsay is a very honest patient. Well wasn’t she same person who said she was taking Benadryl for a sleep and even after prescribing alternative she was still taking Benadryl but Miss honest never once mentioned to this dr that she took weed gummies for sleep on same timelines 💀. Um she had brain fog on same timelines too I wonder why😭
