@delulumoneygirl: One of the most useful money saving or wealth building tips is to have sinking funds for everything i need to keep my life moving!! A sinking fund is money i save a little at a time for a bill you know is coming, so it’s ready when i need it. Money sitting there waiting so when i want to take a trip or my loved ones' birthday comes, i'm not choosing between happiness and hitting my goals. I allocate money weekly to each so there's no stress when these things come up. The whole point of saving 200k is having freedom to actually live while building wealth and this is how i do both. Small weekly amount definitely matters more than big and inconsistent amount. #Budgeting #savingmoney #moneyhacks #moneygoals #moneytips
Me just learning my savings accounts are named sinking funds 😂 back in the day they called them Christmas clubs and stuff

Is there a reason why you put the money into a seperate account for your Amex and not just transfer it straight there as you spend it? 😊 I’m learning a lot

I do something similar to this! I have bills account that money goes into each fortnight when i get paid and my gas/elec/water has a set amount that gets direct debited weekly $10-30 so that im never actually paying a full bill when it lands. I have a house fund account that gets put into weekly, and a “fun” account that doesn’t have a set amount that gets transferred, it’s just if i happen to have extra money in my main account left i transfer it over.

How much did you put in the “walk away” fund each week before letting it accrue interest on its own? And what was your stopping point?
