I thought it was pretty obvious that this keeps happening becuase monsters cant put a human soul in a situation where they truly cant escape, its like against the laws of physics in undertale, no matter what, they just cant, they can produce hard as fuck attacks if their strong, but never undodgeable/inescapable, with the sole exception of sans, who still cant do it without you sparing him
