The “I’m the prize” mentality does more harm for women because even though it may feel empowering, that mindset in a sense reduces a woman’s value to being desirable enough for men to pursue and provide for. It also reinforces the idea that a woman’s role is to be beautiful and receive, while a man’s role is to work, provide, and prove his worth. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy traditional dynamics in a relationship, but when those beliefs become the measure of a woman’s worth, it can undermine women as autonomous people

My partner and I work the same amount of hours and have a very similar salary, therefore we take turns paying for dates and will be splitting all bills and housework 50/50. My time/money/energy is not worth any more than his.
