sea people, it is actually descendants of Atlantis, that was destroyed, and since we know it was a great civilization, probably they had many colonies and cities, what brings us to conclusion, that once capital disappeared, all gone wrong, those people been suffering for 2-3 generations, degraded and after start moving to look for the better life , otherwise there is no explanations why they are so many, just simple couple islands can't produce the waves capable to wash out entire region, well equipped and trained to battle

Who calls them the sea peoples? The Egyptians right? They could have been any number of people in the Mediterranean just looking for easy loot. If societies were collapsing then you have a lot of desperate people who might see Egypt as substantially better of than wherever they were from. The Egyptians were not seafaring but the Greeks were; so I would guess many of these sea peoples were from Greece and the Islands of the Aegean. But word gets around so some may have come from other coastal regions across the Mediterranean too.

I always thought they were Minoan refugees from Akrotiri eruption, they when on to populate other places around the med and eventually became the “sea peoples” the Egyptians mention their “advanced trading neighbours” from the north becoming refugees. Guess 400 years before is too long, though 🤔
