I'm a millennial manager, if my employees come in early I'm asking them why. Their start time exists for a reason, they should be sticking to it.

This is the same as my job, my contract says the day may start 7am earliest. Why am I now staring at 6:30am. Yes it’s only half an hour but that makes a fat difference to my morning

the mistake was telling them about the workout, that's information they don't need to know "I apologize but I'm not available at 8AM since my work hours starts at 9AM, before that I already have different commitments to attend."

I'm not Gen Z, if my working hours are 9-5, im not logging on until 9am unless you're paying me overtime or my hours that day are now 8-4 and if the class is prepaid im looking for reimbursement

this is just ego tripping. there's no reason to be there even 9-5 let alone have an 8am meeting for nothing important. and the guy is right, what's his benefit in all of this? companies have acquired too much power over their employees and they're abusing it all the time

100% makes me laugh that they are SO angry that someone refused to come to a meeting OUTSIDE OF WORKING HOURS. 🤔 But bet if you asked to leave early for an appointment they’d say “it should he made for outside working hours!
