For this reason, I wish music artists would keep their political thoughts to themselves. Not because they’re not entitled to have them, but because sometimes it takes away from the message in the music. Just sing, share your gift, leave politics outside the music. It binds us together.

my grandfather had alhzeimers & was in assisted living. one of the very curvy tall nurses told us that when they turned on certain songs, my short, thin little pop would cut a rug with her, swinging her every which way. turns out he & my gran went to dance halls during the original swing dancing craze!
