Unless they’re hunting for food or to rid the area of a pest because it’s negatively affecting the ecosystem I can’t think of a legitimate reason for hunting. And I think if u do hunt u should use EVERY part of the animal as much as u can because that’s how you hunt ethically (like how indigenous peoples use the pelt for clothes and shelter and the meat to eat and the bones to make weapons and tools.) Hunting for sport is gross tho.

using animals for target practice is beyond odd, but in the absence of apex predators such as here in England dear do as much damage as an invasive species, in fact there are some deer here that are exactly that, they need to be culled.

Hunting is genuinely not ok. If y’all want a healthy wildlife population, introduce predators. Their population is actually controlled by nature too, unlike ours, and that’s natures way of dealing with populations

sometimes hunting is good, especially in areas with no apex predator. this is just like what happened in yellowstone, there were no predators and all the herbivores grew out of limit and lots of soil and vegetation couldnt survive with the sheer amount of deer eating grass

My uncle has a whole herd of deer on his property that all trust him enough to eat out of his hand. People ask him all the time if they can hunt on his land and he tells them 'Only if I get to hunt you.' No one's ever asked twice
