We went to the Boston Children's Museum with our three in July. A week later I was laid off from my job. I turn 35 next month. Married for almost a decade. Three kids who still want to hold my hand in public. That's the resume that actually matters to me. Here's what I noticed. The job title disappeared overnight. My family didn't move an inch. I've talked to enough corporate leaders to know the secret nobody puts on LinkedIn. It gets lonely at the top, they say. Ask the ones who gave everything to the climb whether it was worth it, and more of them than you'd expect will tell you no. They'd trade it all back for the family they didn't have time for. Here's what nobody tells young men either. Your odds of really shaping another life, discipling someone, changing their trajectory, are close to zero out in the world. But inside a family, you get a front row seat to it. You get to selflessly pour into a life that goes on to influence other lives. That is not a small thing. That is generational. And none of this works if you never decide what success actually looks like for you. If you don't define it, somebody else will hand you their definition, and you'll spend your years chasing it. A lot of the addictions and burnout and restlessness we see in young people trace back to that one missing thing. They never stopped to ask, what am I actually building toward. I know what I'm building toward. It looked like what you see in the photos. Three kids, and a wife I still choose every morning. This is what we do at Called to Marriage. Not perfect marriages or perfect parenting. Just people choosing to believe family is still worth building and investing in. Boston Children's Museum 07.17.26 @Thank you, Auntie Audrey, for the tickets. The kids had lots of fun! ❤️
