@shattered.glass.coaching: The US economy lost 23,000 jobs last month, and it’s the first time that's happened in over a year. July jobs report: 23,000 jobs lost, way below the 83,000 gain that economists expected. May and June were both revised down by a combined 103,000. The growth we thought was happening this summer was weaker than reported. But unemployment actually dropped to 4.1%. How? People are leaving the workforce entirely. Participation rate is the lowest in five years. What this means at the Director level and above: your competition is shrinking. Fewer people actively searching. Senior-level postings are still up nearly 15% year-over-year while entry and mid-level are down. The overall market is slow, but it’s not impossible. My coaching clients are landing jobs every week. What to do: → Stay active when others are pulling back → Target roles where you're a genuine fit, no long shots → Apply within 24 hours when you see something real → Lean into your network because referrals matter more than ever in a slow market #jobmarket #jobsearchtips #jobsearching #jobsearch #careercoach
