I’d rather be “reduced” to biological function than social stereotypes tbh

Saying women can give birth is not ‘reducing’ - giving birth is literally the most incredible thing a body can do. And only women can do it. Physically and mentally. What our bodies go through from puberty through to menopause is not something you can dismiss and make out it’s not part of the conversation.

and like every woman's experience is different, whether it includes periods, pregnancy, PCOS, hormone therapy, gender affirming care, motherhood, sisterhood, or a million other things!! Theyre making it woman vs woman, when we really should be bringing each other together! Nobody's experience is more beautiful just because it contains different elements

There is nothing “reducing” about female anatomy. It’s actually extremely complex and deserves to be researched we no nothing about it actually because of misogyny.

“Reducing womanhood down to your uterus” so I guess any woman with endo, PCOS, ovarian or uterine cancer that was passed off as “cramps” because doctors only do studies on male mice just don’t exist in her world or something?

Misogynist to mention how our bodies carry a life and then risk their lives to give birth. Having uterus that put us in danger to assaults. We live with it and try to find the beauty in it. Our uterus is a huge part because it separates our struggles from men.

They are trying just as males did to deem bio experiences as a woman as meaningless. And I say this as a woman that got her uterus out, but the uterus IS still a main part of the female biological experience.

then it follows that reducing womanhood to male ideals of female beauty is absolutely misogyny

Fertility, reproductive health, birth and motherhood are core pillars of womanhood. That is not to say you need to be defined by those things, or even to have experienced any of them to be a woman, but to completely write them off bc they aren’t inclusive of trans women is ludicrous and so so reductive

The assertion that “womanhood is more than reproductive organs” is true, but using it to completely dismiss biological reality is a disingenuous conflation. Womanhood is not defined by pregnancy, menstruation, or the female body as evidenced by women who cannot experience these due to illness, infertility, or age but these biological realities are undeniably a core part of the collective female experience. When we attempt to articulate the distinct structural and bodily experiences that separate women from transgender women, bypassing these differences by labeling them “misogynistic” or “reductive” erases a fundamental dimension of female history and I find that argument very disingenuous. Menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, female specific healthcare, and the societal policing of the female body form the bedrock of unique biological vulnerabilities and historical oppressions. Because transgender women will never experience these innate biological milestones or the distinct lifetime of societal subjugation attached to them, they cannot possess a deeper, more beautiful, or superior understanding of womanhood than biological women. Their understanding is built on a fundamentally different trajectory.
