@meghannmcuniff: The prosecutor's final questions for Lindsay Clancy's psychiatrist today concerned the medication she prescribed her a week before she killed her three young children in 2023. Jennifer Tufts prescribed Clancy amitriptyline to treat major depressive disorder on Jan. 16, 2023, in 10 miligram doses. She filled the prescription that day. "And out of this pill bottle here, there were 30 pills in this prescription, correct?" Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague asked, displaying the pill bottle for the jury. "Yes," Tufts answered. "There are eight pills missing from this bottle. So, filled on January 16, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd would be eight days, correct? And on the 23rd is when you said she could raise it to 20 milligrams?" Sprague asked. "Yes," Tufts answered. "So if there are only eight pills missing, she never took that additional dose?" Sprague asked. "Correct," Tufts answered. "So the amitriptyline, increasing it to from 10 milligrams to 20 milligrams, wouldn't have pushed her over the edge. Correct?" Sprague asked. "Well, if she didn't take 20 milligrams, then that's correct," Tufts answered. "I have nothing further. Thank you," Sprague said. Prosecutors in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, are seeking three murder convictions against Clancy for the Jan. 24, 2023, strangulation deaths of her three children, 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan. Her defense is that she's not guilty because she was in a psychosis related to postpartum problems. #law #court #pharma #crime

Regardless! She took 8 pills for 8 days & then was prescribed a higher dosage! It doesn’t matter that she didn’t take all of them. 1 pill from as many medications she had at one time or over the course of a week would have anyone wracked out!!

The date on the bottle is the date the pharmacy filled the medication. The receipt of purchase is the date the patient received the medication

If she said to increase the dose she would have needed to send a new script into the pharmacy!?! The insurance companies don’t allow you to refill early!

10 mg is a very low dose and does little to a patient I take 75mg a day and have done for 11 years no problems no psychosis no symptoms no changes in actions so she was given low doses because she kept going back requesting medication saying it wasn’t working while not taking it, it takes 3 months for amitriptyline to get in the system and start working properly 10mg is a starting dose very mild

That’s as much speculation as saying she also may have missed a day or two after filling it and taking an additional dose or two on the last day

Was it confirmed that she took the medication starting the day she picked it up and not the next morning? She started the next day then the pill count confirmed what KR said.

They counted pills they aren’t just making assumptions now unless miss lancy threw away pills instead of taking it we can say how much pills she took it.

No! It cannot be based off of that alone because it starts to build up from the first time u take it and sits there and can absolutely cause side effects immediately for some people !

Why did my mind start to think that she and her husband planned to get rid of the children after she discovered his infidelity? She told him she couldn't take care of the children alone and that they should be eliminated if he wanted a divorce. 😢
