All my professors gave me a copy of the letter they submitted they were also kind enough to let me see it before they submit this could be unique to me though I was close to them

My one prof & I have such a great connection and he says he’ll let me see the letter before he sends it. So sweet!

We were able to choose whether we could see them or not. The recommender was able to see what you chose. I waived my right for both but both sent it to be themselves as a form of transparency or something? For an applied science masters.

I will add that sometimes the professors will send them to you if you ask. Two of the three of my LoR writers automatically sent me a copy of their LoR’s. I didn’t need to ask. I never asked the third for a copy, but I’m sure she’d have sent it to me if I asked. It really just depends on the relationship with the professor in my experience.

My one LoR writer complained about the series of questions they ask. He felt like they forced him to answer in a way that is lacking nuance or context.
