I find it so weird how respecting elders is a part of almost every culture and disrespecting an elder just a little bit even on accident can change drastically how ppl view u but when it's someone disrespecting someone who's young, no one gives a damn

Yeah so the attack on trans people is also largely targeted towards trans children/teenagers. Like obv trans adults are being targeted too but a lot of the anti trans rhetoric is aimed at preventing trans minors from accessing care or even being able to play sports with same age peers which absolutely ostracizes them from their peers.

The main reason I don't want kids myself is because I don't think I'm capable to give them the care they deserve. It's not necessarily that I don't want kids, it's that I don't want to be a bad parent. So many kids deserve better!

Wouldn't teenagers count too? I'm not saying that children aren't oppressed or anything of the sort, but people tend to forget that THEY were once a child or teenager, just like us (I don't hate children myself, I just...find them a lil annoying—that doesn't mean I hate them)

Older people are treated as the hierarchy simply because they're older and children are being silenced and judged simply because they're younger. The amount of tikes where I'd genuinely debate with my family only for them to refuse to listen because they're older and in charge EVEN when they know they're young.

And what I don’t get about the oppression of children is,, at one point ALL OF US WERE CHILDREN, so we should know what it’s like! It can be hard to compare your life to one you’ve never experienced, but you’ve experienced childhood!!

As someone who was abused as a kid, children are an oppressed group NO ONE wants to talk about. Everyone sees it as “well, that’s just how they’re raising them” instead of maybe this is a weird and fucked up way to raise a kid that’ll leave them with permanent disabilities. Kids deserve to be seen as their own people and have the right to make decisions on their own ESPECIALLY because parents can take advantage of the fact they have end all be all say on everything.
