@the.legal.np: Day 10: Dr. Jennifer Tufts’ cross-examination focused heavily on experience, telehealth, documentation, and what she could…and could not…observe through a screen. One of the biggest takeaways: Tufts testified she had never personally treated postpartum psychosis, but had treated many patients with psychosis generally and said she never observed psychosis in Lindsay. Part 2 gets much more clinically significant. #lindsayclancycase #lindsayclancy #truecrime #nursepractitioner
This clip will be used for years to come to teach providers the importance of clinical notes and proper documentation!

I do this all the time "No nausea, vomiting, headache." My "no" is in reference to all 3. Do I need to be putting a "no" before all of then

The issue is- this Doctor is getting sued and has a lot to lose. We can’t trust her testimony either way. If she says yes- Lindsay was experiencing these things then it incriminates herself as negligent. If she says anything other than “Lindsay was a bit depressed but fine and I gave great care…” she’s implicating herself in being negligent and losing her license

That mic drop moment was everything. She was ill prepared and he was the bulldog he is. If another provider is reviewing her notes, they are reading that exactly the way he did.

Lindsey’s case was complicated, which she should have clued into early on. This physician should have consulted with a more seasoned psychiatrist / medical director.

I do understand her position must have been incredibly difficult- but it was very frustrating that she wouldn’t give ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answers but rather felt the need to preface every answer. It felt very defensive and combative. Though that makes sense since she’s also being sued…

This sent me in an anxious overthinking spiral today… I always write “pt denies any current a,b,c, or d” now I’m second guessing if I should be writing “no” or “denies” in front of every item in a list. 🥴

I see my therapist and psychiatrist online… they have come to know me so well that they have seen signs that prompt them to ask me to come in office… each time that has happened I was having su1c1dal thoughts… I’m so grateful they had enough awareness to know I had to be seen in person

“I don’t care what it says” is a wild thing to say! Any medical schooling they drill into you, if you didn’t chart it it didn’t happen! It doesn’t matter what you meant it matters what’s saved in the chart. She knows that. Her attitude and eye rolling on the stand was uncalled for. If she didn’t feel like she could care for her she should have said hey let me refer you to a more experienced provider.
