That does not change the fact that Pikachu has absolutely no idea what’s going on, Charizard is constantly setting things on fire, and Meowth somehow learned to talk but still hasn’t explained why. We’ve built an entire understanding of the Pokémon universe around these creatures and somehow nobody thought to ask basic questions. Why does Pikachu say its own name? Who decided Magikarp needed to exist? And why are we apparently comfortable letting children wander into tall grass with six animals capable of destroying a building? I’m not saying the Pokémon world is a carefully orchestrated conspiracy, but I’m also not saying Professor Oak isn’t hiding something.
