@pmkamlapersadbissessar: Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar: A HIGH-LEVEL VISIT, STRENGTHENING A LONGSTANDING PARTNERSHIP I was pleased to welcome United States Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau to Trinidad and Tobago for a high-level visit focused on strengthening cooperation between our two nations. From productive bilateral engagements and major agreements in energy and investment, to sharing the warmth, culture and hospitality of Trinidad and Tobago, this visit marked another important step forward in the Trinidad and Tobago–United States partnership. You know...we continue to fall for nonsense. I am critical of the PNM for their many shortcomings....but the main question is this - the plant closed in 2016....what has changed to make this venture economically viable? Are they going to bring in senior management and expertise from abroad? What tax concessions are being given to the investor? This certainly scores political points...but how it will materialize for us remains to be seen. People think that the US cares about T&T....pure folly....especially with this current Trump administration.
