@btcbeyondthecase: In March 2023, a group of young people exploring the abandoned Boysville Juvenile Detention Center in Frenchtown Township, Michigan, made a horrifying discovery. Beneath a tarp inside the abandoned facility was the body of 23-year-old Kayla Sedoskey, a Monroe mother who had been missing for weeks. Kayla had been murdered, and investigators eventually determined that she had been shot. What followed was a disturbing investigation involving multiple people who had previously lived together. Six people were ultimately convicted or pleaded guilty in connection with Kayla’s death, including Steven Bails, Narena Bails, Sierra Bemis, Brin Smith, Kaylyn Ramsey and Alexander Feko. The case became even more disturbing after a witness described an environment in which Steven Bails allegedly controlled people living in his home and took their money and benefits. Online retellings have described the group as a “cult,” but that characterization has not been officially established by authorities. Three years later, Kayla’s murder remains one of the most disturbing cases connected to the abandoned Boysville facility. #TrueCrime #truecrimetok #truecrimetok #crimedocumentary #crimejunkie
