I have to disagree with this take. As a woman with naturally large breasts, wearing a bra actually gives me more support and can make a huge difference in how my chest and back feel. Going without one can be much more uncomfortable and even painful for me.I also think people forget that, historically, bras made for women with larger chests have often been some of the most unattractive, bulky, and “grandma-looking” bras imaginable. So when people say, “Just don’t wear a bra,” it ignores the fact that a lot of us wear them because we genuinely need the support.I feel like this take mainly applies to women who can comfortably go braless. Not every woman has that option. For some of us, a bra isn’t about beauty standards or feeling obligated to wear one it’s about comfort, support, and protecting our backs from unnecessary strain.

I, like most of the women who jumped into the comments, have a large chest and without a bra my back is hurting, sweat is pooling, my nipples are looking around the room like a chameleon, and I’m just uncomfortable. Also, if I go workout without a bra and do any kind of cardio, I’m losing an eye. Going downstairs, slapping myself in the face, not fun. That’s why I wear bras.

I think a issue with bras is that they are so uncomfortable for people because they aren’t wearing the right size. A lot of the times it’s not their fault because they are told by others what their size is and Ik there’s a lot of problems with certain bra companies telling people they are a different size. I experienced this myself because I am very skinny (I have an ed called arfid so I don’t say that to be pick me just a fact). I would go into stores and they would tell me I was a different size just to sell me a bra because they didn’t carry my actual size. They would tell me I was a 32 band size when I was actually a 28. I feel like this would also be a problem bigger people or people with bigger chests may also experience.

I was ENRAGED when I was first squeezed into one at 10 years old. I felt like a chained dog. I stopped them for good when I moved out as a teenager and couldn't be forced. I hate them just as much decades later.

For me it hurts to run or do certain things without wearing one but if it didn't I'd literally never wear a bra nevermind those Epstein linked owner of Victoria's Secret bras that are super lacy and uncomfortable and normalized not that expressing yourself is bad but functionality is never usually sold first these days. Meanwhile the comparison of woman's underwear to men's where men's aren't made to appeal they're made to function. I think bras were just capitalized by some into something for how it looks over comfort but others not at all it's very diverse

I have large breasts and definitely need to wear a bra, it is not comfortable most of the time without one. I just stopped wearing underwires years ago and it's been amazing. big kitty bralettes and sports bras for me!
