@bloompsychology: Sometimes postpartum depression shows up as rage instead of sadness. #postpartumrage #postpartumsupport #maternalmentalhealth #mentalload #postpartumdepresssion
I had pp rage 100% caused by severe sleep deprivation. I didn’t sleep longer than a 2 hour stretch for 16 months. Unless you’ve experienced that, you truly cannot comprehend how absolutely debilitating it is

It’s not the bottle or the diapers it’s why the hell do I have to be responsible for every single thing for everyone down to the point where you’re leaving a bottle on the counter because you know I’ll clean it up later. Or you ask where the diapers are because you can’t think for one second about where they could possibly be. I’m so rundown and exhausted and trying to recover myself and I still have to put in so much effort to make up for an underperforming partner

Wellbutrin saved my life after my 2nd was born. I had PPD and didn’t know for a while because I was just SO angry. My husband helped me and convinced me to reach out to my OB.

I'm just so angry. I don't get much help, and I definitely don't sleep and I never get a chance to clean my space enough to feel a tad bit better. I'm becoming resentful with my significant other and other family.

I’m already a year postpartum, still breastfeeding overnight with very little sleep and my relationship is down the hill and I’m over stimulated and angry all the time.

What do you do if you feel even too overwhelmed to even get help, does this go away? I don’t have any support outside of my partner and he doesn’t help much. I do everything. My baby just turned one. I thought it would get better but it hasn’t

its not postpartum depression to deal with a man thats using weaponized incompetence or dealing with MIL crossing boundaries. this anger is justified

Anger can mask the sadness but it is still there. Anger is protective. Been there. It is important to process and regulate it and reconnect with your why or purpose. 💓

Yep, 💯 I’m talking therapy, and I’m learning so much about this. I knew my rage wasn’t normal, even though I had valid reasons to be angry. I had to be the one setting boundaries with family members, advocating for myself at the hospital, dealing with intense pain and medications, and feeling so lonely throughout the whole pregnancy process. I knew something wasn’t right when I was so angry that it was actually making me sick. There is still SO much we need to learn as a society about postpartum. ❤️
