I remember back when I started working “desktop publishing” in the 90s that Photoshop came out. It was great but there was no undo! So you had to write down how you did something in order to repeat it again in the future. Eventually Photoshop came out with 2.0, including “actions“ which sound like your “skills“. A recording of a process of steps. Eventually in 3.0 it became a filter, and all the work learning to create a filter became useless 😅
