When doing laundry becomes the most magical experience of your life - Manaslu Circuit Trek - Nepal 🇳🇵 There’s something so raw, simple and beautiful absorbing it this day … high up 4800m in the Nepal Himalayas, washing my clothes in water from the stream and hanging them to dry in the snowy mountain air. It was the most basic of days, simplest of tasks but it filled my heart with an incredible joy. What an incredible place to do laundry ❤️ I don’t think anything will compare. This day wasn’t actually supposed to happen, but what a blessing it was. The day before the summit push of Larke La Pass and unfortunately my partner felt sick from the altitude, walking at 12am with shortness of breath, migraine, nausea and sickness. These are the signs for Acute Altitude Sickness … signs that should definitely not be ignored. We were supposed to start the trek at 4am, and after checking his blood oxygen levels (which luckily were fine) we decided to take a rest day and not go any higher in altitude. Which ment for me, an incredible day in Dharamshala at 4800m - no WiFi - no tourists as they had all left 🙌🏻 - the place totally empty all morning with the most incredible mountains. Don’t get me wrong, Dharamshala on the Manaslu Trek is BASIC !!! Don’t expect fancy food - there’s definitely no contact with the outside world - the toilets are your typical squat in a tin shed - the accommodation is super basic (forget about washed sheets !!!) But every day I wish every day I could be back here - nothing compares to this feeling being so high, so wild and so absolutely connected to the mountains. This is what I live for, these are the memories I want to spend every penny I earn on.
