omg I thought the exact same thing when I saw this campaign, as someone who used to work in beauty (and now refuses to) I know exactly how this happened and it’s soooo annoying to see legacy brands still doing this shit when so many newer/up and coming brands have pushed so far in the right direction when it comes to real skin and real bodies

The cosmetic industry has always always always retouched their models, regardless of how beautiful they are they move their lips. They erase their wrinkles. They make their eyes bigger they trim their eyebrows and lines… I’m not kidding. They brighten their teeth you name it. And of course, they’ve retouched their eyelashes a la lashgaye Mikayla N. It’s done all the time and yes, it looks artificial, but these industries are mostly run by men and they set the standards of what they dream to be attractive
