But if you actually look at the rule, they appealed back to first to get the third out, but the runner already scored if they would’ve appealed over to third to get the out the won’t of counted. That’s actually in the rules because it’s not a force back at first. It’s called an a pill.

Basically siegler crossed home and scored before the 3rd out (at first) was made. Yes, he didn't tag up, but thats only an out if the Jays throw to third. Jays left the field, therefore forfeiting the ability to negate his run.

If the Blue Jays would have stayed on the field and appealed both runners, then there would have been “4 outs”, which is the only way you can keep the run from counting.
