it’s sad to think this was a normal practice back then and women didn’t get to grieve their babies, just to carry on and plant a rose in their wake. My grandmother planted 12 rose bushes.

it kills me thinking about how truly lonely she was. everyone hated her for something that wasn’t her fault, her husband was gone most of the day, and she kept losing her babies, while living in this huge, empty house. the idea that she might’ve thought she could make her own friends in her babies, but in the end, she lost them too. My sweet sweet Celia. I’m so thankful that eventually Minny came along.

Her and her husband deserved some babies they were both soo sweet. This movie goes to show not everyone has so much hate in their heart. I actually wanna movie about the good people during that time. They come out with movies about the horrible things but what about the good people who didn’t see color 💕

What’s worse is I read she liked gardening before this because she was poor- so she took to planting flowers to pretty up the dirt. Now, with riches, she still takes to prettying up the things around her- specifically her darkest moments she couldn’t really share with anybody else because he husband was gone and she didn’t have any friends :(

I believe in the book she said this was her 4th miscarriage wasn't it? I just remember her doctor being so mean to her when she had to have him visit and then Minny having to tell her to stop taking the remedies she was buying bc it was probably causing the miscarriages
