See, the thing is… my makeup looked good on camera, but in person? It was overly caked, heavily textured, and honestly, a little clownish. 😂 I never felt the most like ME when I stepped outside my door. I was just doing what I saw online. Applying my makeup exactly the way someone else told me I should. And it never occurred to me that using makeup products marketed toward medium-deep skin tones didn’t automatically mean I needed warm, orangey bronzers, bold or bright blushes, and warm-toned eyeshadows. Never in a million years would I have thought that I could actually shine in muted, dusty, softer tones. Then I received my detailed color analysis… and I was completely caught off guard. For the past two years, I thought I was a Bright Winter — high contrast, bold colors, dramatic looks. Turns out… I’m actually a Soft Summer. 🌫️🩷 But what shocked me the most wasn’t even discovering my color season. It was realizing just how little representation there is for women who look like me within the Soft Summer community. I couldn’t find many guides showing the exact shades, brands, products, and makeup combinations that actually work for someone with my complexion. So now, I’m navigating this completely new world and figuring it all out as I go. And honestly? Boy, is it FUN. 🥹 Color analysis, makeup, finding my undertones, discovering shades I never would have picked up before… it has completely taken over my life. But in the best possible way. Because for the first time, I’m not just trying to recreate someone else’s beauty. I’m learning how to make MY beauty make sense.
