@themindfulmocktail: Save this easy Fire Cider recipe 🔥 Fire cider is a homemade herbal tonic that has been enjoyed for generations during cold and flu season. Ingredients 1 red onion 1 red chilli 1 garlic bulb 1 orange 1 lemon 1–2 thumbs turmeric 2–3 herbs of choice (I used thyme + rosemary) 2–3 spices of choice (I used star anise + cinnamon) 3 thumbs ginger 3–4 cups apple cider vinegar with the “mother” Honey to taste Chop everything and add to a large jar, then pour over the apple cider vinegar until the ingredients are completely covered. Shake well and store in a cool, dark place for 4-6 weeks, shaking every other day. Strain, stir in honey to taste, then transfer to an airtight jar or bottle. Store for up to 5 months. Take 1-2 tablespoons daily, or I love using this in fall mocktails, dressings, marinades etc. #firecider #fallrecipes

Vanni :

I’ve never been able to find fresh turmeric in a local store (I’m in rural Iowa) — Any suggestions for a substitute or a measurement for powdered/dried?

Iris :

I made it last year and by the time I could take it I had one spoonful and nearly threw up. The sourness and spice took me out. Any way to consume this without the instant gag reflex?
