@diaryofdudu: One thing I noticed in #Morocco is some of the elders seem deeply connected to Allah. 🇲🇦🤍 I sat near an elderly #woman on the bus who had traditional #tattoos on her hands, yet throughout the journey she was quietly making dhikr and reciting. I asked and these tattoos can be part of an older Amazigh/Berber cultural tradition, particularly among #women of previous generations. #fyp

the amazigh tribes used to tattoo themselves with symbols of their tribes or amazigh simbols in general, plus those tribes didn't have access to all the knowledge about the Quran since they lived far away from the cities and people

The older generation didn’t have all the knowledge we have now, aldhmulilah. They used to live in places far from people and didn’t have many booka or hadith available. They didn’t know it was Haram. It was until later on when they got the knowledge that it was haram. Many of Them removed it and others couldn’t. When you don’t know something, it didn’t make it haram. May Allah forgive is all.

They were the amazigh people’s identity so they could be told apart( I don’t really remember the exakt reason but I know it had something to do with their identity)

north African women used to have tatoos even if they were muslims just because they did not know that it's haram cause a long time ago the majority of people did not speak arabic so when islam came in the first and few people that understood arabic kept only with quran and some prophet (saw) hints . brievely they practiced diiin but not as we know it now

I know you mean well, that you’d like to know more and that you’re interested. I just would have preferred it if you had blurred or hidden her face, out of respect for her privacy. ❤️

It’s amazigh culture! My great grandma had them, Allah yerhamha and she told me it was a ritual for women back in her days to mark that a girl became a woman 🤍 this was all before the influence of Islam
