@nourishingapothecary: This is one of the most common questions we get from couples preparing for IVF, and the answer often surprises people. The truth is that there isn’t automatically a “better” option. A fresh embryo transfer happens in the same IVF cycle as your egg collection, once the embryo has developed. A frozen embryo transfer (FET) means the embryo is frozen first and transferred during a later menstrual cycle. So does one have higher success rates? Not necessarily. Research has shown that pregnancy outcomes can be very similar, but the best choice depends on your individual circumstances, not a one-size-fits-all rule. For example, your fertility specialist may recommend a frozen transfer if: • Your hormone levels are very high after egg collection. • You’re at risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). • Your uterus may be more receptive in a later cycle. For someone else, a fresh transfer may be the right decision. At our clinic, we encourage couples to zoom out and look at the bigger picture. The success of an IVF cycle isn’t just about whether an embryo is fresh or frozen. It’s also about: ✨ Embryo quality ✨ Uterine lining health ✨ Hormonal balance ✨ Sperm quality ✨ Your overall health before transfer These are the factors that often have the biggest influence on IVF outcomes. If you’re preparing for IVF or feeling overwhelmed by all the decisions, you don’t have to navigate it alone. 💚 Our Senior IVF & Fertility Naturopaths, Mel and Danielle, work alongside couples throughout their IVF journey to help optimise the factors that are actually within your control. 🌿 Start with a FREE Discovery Call to see how we can support you. 💻 Australia-wide via Zoom 🌐 www.nourishingapothecary.com Not sure who to book with? What if we get less eggs retrieved like 3/4 only. Would you still think fresh is better than frozen ?
