You are correct, Rev, but I believe there is another aspect we need to consider. The names you mentioned come from cultures that did not originally involve idolatry. However, in Africa, some traditional cultures and practices have become closely associated with idol worship. So my question is: If certain aspects of our traditional cultures have become connected with idolatry, should we still identify ourselves with those cultures, or should we separate ourselves from anything that conflicts with our faith?
