Honourable Abdul Kargbo took the opportunity to extend his profound thanks and appreciation to the Honourable members of Parliament of the opposition. The opposition members of Parliament were fully persuaded and committed to standing behind the people and standing for what is right Honourable Abdul Kargbo said. In democracy, there are many challenges; sometimes it is not easy, but it is important to come out and stand up. This is one of the finest opportunities that members of Parliament collaboratively decided to embrace for the people and the country.There were many comments from the public domain. Honourable Abdul Kargbo further said he thinks that members of Parliament should not be part of proceedings that are not constitutional, and the constitution is the greatest book of Sierra Leone after the spiritual books. Honourable Abdul Kargbo also said any documents that do not have the two-thirds majority, he doesn't think members of Parliament should be party to it. Honourable Abdul Kargbo thanked all APC members of Parliament, and he was fully persuaded that they are in unity; they are stronger together. Their voices have spoken today, and this has sent a signal that forces cannot divide them. To the members of Parliament, Honourable Abdul Kargbo said he wants to express his gratitude to APC members of Parliament that starting Monday today,10th August 2026,Parliament will go into recess until October, and he expects to see Honourable members of APC in full force in Parliament. He reminded them that the action is not boycotting Parliament; all that they did is exclude themselves from the unprocedural amendment of the constitution.
