i hate the “well maybe you haven’t met the right man!” rhetoric because as a lesbian who has tried being with men (and is getting divorced from a man), i literally spent most of my life trying to be something i wasn’t and it made me miserable and resentful. i have tried to “fix” myself so i wouldn’t have to disappoint my family. it doesn’t work like that. i literally had to go on a 72 hour hold during my “hookup” phase where i slept with men because it made me suicidal. it’s just so obviously harmful but idiots think they’re being “helpful” by saying it.

i think we all have to remember that our sexual attraction is OURS. “everyone’s a little bisexual” would make perfect since to me since i can’t imagine not liking both but i know logically that’s NOT how it works, especially for lesbians.

Im a gay cis man so I know I'm definitely more secure than a lot of other queers, but I gotta say SOME bisexual people love picking on the most vulnerable parts of our community. I'm not dismissing their struggles but holy, I've seen them trying to chastise les4les and gold star lesbians and equate them to straight women not dating bi men. They love to participate in misery olympics just to try and act like they have it worse than even poc trans folk. Most of them don't bother learning about queer history and are annoyingly performative.

literally every post I see on biphobia has over a million comments so this video is very telling to me. you CANT tell me lesbians aren't overlooked and pushed to the side because we 100% are. we are sexualized by men, hated by bisexuals for being "biphobic," cant be fem because we look bi/straight, cant be too masc or you "wanna be a boy." I'm so exhausted.
