@hipsterphoto: The right camera won’t make you better. It will make you braver. Constraints teach you things - composition, patience, working a street photography scene instead of firing off forty frames and hoping. That’s real. But not enough camera is also a comfortable thing to say when you’re not sure you can make the shot. @Hasselblad X2D II 100C, XCD 35-100mm. Medium format, 100 megapixels, and sleeker than it has any right to be for a sensor that big. Shoots fewer frames, but with more intention on each one. It won’t see the frame for me. It won’t wait out light I’ve already waited an hour for. Taste is still on me. The camera just stops being the excuse. anything beyond a full frame 12mp-11stops sensor is up to the lens and the camera literally doesn't matter. anything beyond that I've found it's just a crutch for people who need to heavily crop their shots to get a good composition

gear matters *to an extent*, you can have the most amazing expensive gear and fail, or you can be flat out broke with old gear and be successful. but the person with the expensive gear does have a leg up.

Just to let you know, the majority of professional photographers stay within their budget for gear! They have years of knowledge and experience behind them with much less expensive gear and will make the pictures that Hasselblad takes look like crap!

Gear matters when you know how to use it to its fullest potential. A professional photographer on a beginner canon camera can potentially do more and better that a beginner on a progressional grade camera
