Seeing people praise EA Wyll when he would've been sidelined way worse than he is now is something I noticed. Since EA Wyll was basically just goblin slayer but BG3 edition.

Ive got a take. The only reason shadowheart is more popular than Laezel from the start is cuz shes a pretty WHITE woman. Laezel is far more helpful and HONEST than shadowheart rlly (ever) is.

I recently saw a mod for BG3 that was like "Be nicer to Wyll" and it changed some dialogue interactions with him but reading the before and afters I kinda sat there like "holy shit why were all our dialogue choices make us such jerks?"

we don't even get to see Wyll face the Dragon Cult! which id argue is more interesting and would warrant a cutscene more than child Shadowheart being scared of wolves. are both events important to each character, of course they are. we only get to see one and it's not about the DRAGON CULT

My default team to run is affectionally referred to as Team Free Wyll. It consists of Gale, Wyll and Karlach, and we spend the entire game making good decisions and helping everyone 🥰

They updated ascended Astarion to make the kiss scene less disgusting but they won’t fix the glitches in Wyll’s story/romance.

I played during the Early Access and I miss EA Wyll so much. He was so full of himself and had a bit of a mean streak. He really latched onto the Title of "Blade of the Frontier" and it made for a much more interesting character. I also don't like how much nicer they made Shadowheart.

They’re both sidelined kinda badly but at least karlach has her own unique mechanic that’s really cool. Wylls special feature that only he has? He’s proficient in rapiers

it honestly kind of pissed me off they somehow lumped ansur and balduran’s thing into wyll’s trial and made him look like a side character in his own personal quest by the end of it. it wrapped up very unceremoniously with him commenting on losing ansur as an aid. like okay?? why are they overshadowing him 😭

Karlach’s romance scenes are fine. Wyll not having a scene in act 1 is crazy. You’d think the dudes dad is kidnapped by the main villains would have more cafe out into him.

i find it very very weird that the only two poc or poc-coded companions get sent to HELL while everyone else is able to settle down and get a happy ending. they also make it seem like there’s a cure for karlach’s heart through out the entire game, but at the end just… take it away? like they got too lazy to think up a cure and finish her quest line? and WYLL. don’t get me started. he’s by far one of my favorites, but he’s also the most mistreated. not only is his story unfinished, but his dialogue is BROKEN. all the companion’s dialogues change if you romance them, except for him. he only says “well met”. either they cut all his other lines or it’s a bug that they haven’t bothered to fix. and that’s just one example, really. hate hate hate larian

romance Wyll my first playthrough, went to Avernus with him and Karlach and when I did the epilog I only had dialog implying I romanced Karlach, and nothing with Wyll at all. I barely had Karlach in my party and did none of her romance scenes
