I feel like i’m the only person in the comments that has been to Uranium City. My grandfather designed a very special ventilation system for the old school called Candu. The govt representatives as well as people involved in the project showed up for the unveiling, which was a few months before the school was set to open. They flew a special guy in from wisconsin who had a cutting edge (at the time) radiation detector to triple check the work. It went off like crazy. Everyone scratched their heads but long story short, the contractor had decided they would use the already crushed rock on the outskirts of town to mix the concrete. The rock was all from the uranium mines. The schools were closed and albeit a new one was open later, it is now it’s a ghost town.
