The bathroom stuff has always had the same insane logic as “white only” bathrooms, they believe there’s some inherent and impossible to breach wall that will forever separate people just like segregationist did. Why are trans woman or even just men so exceptionally different that they must not use something as basic as a bathroom? I mean we see it all the time with mothers letting there male kids in, when did such a disgustingly sexual view on the bathroom come about.

realistically, the reason the government is doing this is for control. they believe trans people being in the other sex toilet is dangerous, and they only consider the danger to cis women, they fail to consider how dangerous it is for a trans woman who is SO femme presenting (not saying ppl who aren’t 100% femme presenting aren’t in danger but anyways) to go into men’s toilets. ALSO like you said, trans people are such a small percentage. and most cases (if not all) of ‘trans’ people coming in and assaulting people ARE NOT TRANS. this control of which toilets to lose is so ridiculous bc they say it’ll prevent ‘men’ from coming and assaulting women but if a man wants to assault a woman, they don’t need to put on a wig and a dress they will just come in and hurt someone. it’s all for control and discrimination and pretending it’s for the safety of others, when it is not creating a safe space for anyone.

I hate that in the trans community that rhetoric “biological woman biological sex” “we change gender but not sex” has been assimilated, is not true, we change the main attributes that make up sex, our phenotype is similar to a XY woman with complete insensitivity to androgens, a person who legally fon this sentence is recognized as “biological woman” despite being XY, we are not biological men, my body does not work like that of a biological man, and neither does yours, this whole idea of focusing everything on “gender” and leaving aside the sexual transition has played against us

and before any terf or transphobe says anything i just want to add that in these discussions trans men are not brought up as frequently. They are now also forced to used the women’s restroom. Will you ostracise them from their own bathrooms that you say they belong to then? and what what will stop normal biological men with predatory intent stop them from entering the women’s toilet in the pretence of a trans man? like these discussions hyper-fixate on trans woman so much and what genitalia they have that they fail to consider all parties involved
