I never understood how are you going to order pt before imaging ?? Can’t pt actually make it worse if you don’t know exactly what’s wrong ??

Um, the hospital would not give me cash price because I have insurance. They refused.

My local imaging centers claim that because I have an active insurance policy (that they found details for online on their own) I don't qualify for any cash pay prices or discounts. I don't even have the right to decide if I want to use the insurance I pay for or not. The scam will never make sense to me.

you shouldn't do PT until you have thoroughly investigated the injury with X-ray and MRI, otherwise you could cause damage

because of trump I have no insurance. When I paid out of pocket 2 years ago. everything was this cheap. But now I am finding that when I am paying out of pocket, prices have gone up. It's almost to the point where it's the same price of a copay

I got a better story for you. I picked up a prescription that was put in the system as 30 day supply. When I went to pick up a refill, it was triple the price I thought something might’ve changed with my insurance. I checked my insurance it showed it should’ve been the original price. I looked further at the prescription from the pharmacy and they had changed it from a 30 day supply to a 90 day supply because it apparently was put in the system wrong the first time. so even though I picked up the exact same amount, just the supply changed it tripled in price for the exact same thing.

I gotta ask.. On average how much does each session cost for cash pay for PT? My copay each time I walk through the door is 75.00. I cant afford that..

My last MRI (knee) was 1200, CT (sinuses) 900. Like two years ago head MRI was 450. I will definitely shop around next time

And the downside is that doesn’t count towards the OOP max for the benefit year 😩

Also…. If they have a copay- get all their MRIs on one day… 1 copay- not 3.

Really depends on where you go. Paid out of pocket at a stand alone MRI place (cheapest in the area) and was over $1000

related: Radiology Assist DOT Com, Laboratory Assist DOT Com, Colonoscopy Assist DOT Com, Rx Assist DOT Org. so all of these actually save you money. I've used the Laboratory and Rx.

I do this bypass method all the time. Healthcare can be relatively affordable if you cut out insurance

One place wanted over $1800 recently for a neck MRI. Without insurance $350. I eventually paid $450 using insurance at another facility

I was told by our hospital that they have had patients who paid cash for their MRI denied surgery coverage by their insurance because they did not authorize the scan. Make it make sense
