@bedsidenotes: re learning things ive been told my whole life satu persatuuu heheheh (at the age of 2x something) alias better late than never yezzz 😎 #selfreflection #hopecore #islam #medium #philosophy
right? that’s why a lot of “religious” people still do things that are supposedly haram. because we always simplify it to “don’t do it because it’s haram.”but that’s not always enough. people will eventually give in to their “nafsu” if they don’t understand why they have to resist it in the first place.

last night i was having a similar conversation with one of my friends, about how we should try to deconstruct the teachings that were forced upon us about islam all this time.. about how most of the teachings nowadays have been culturally impacted. about how we as a believer should have our own journey in learning about islam, to learn it from the qur'an itself and not by word of mouth. this post evoke something in me, you made me realize how deep it goes and there is still a lot more to explore about my religion. thank you for this post, in love with how the way you approach this topic❤️

sometime i think of it like this, there has been generations from us that already understand the effects of doing haram things. decades people known this and passed down generations until the last generation only knows that “this is haram” and when asked, they dont really know and too lazy to explain bcs there already an answer to the problem. thats why we gotta keep asking and keep the testaments clean from obstruction

mr.Mamat :
Because most people born into Islam rarely read Islamic history itself, very few actually study the origin of a rule, its background, and so on. Whenever learning an ideology, one needs to study its history before diving into its core concepts.

technically, alcohol wasn't prohibited, it was khamr meaning intoxicated. this why Early Persian use this 'loophole' to allow themselves drinking wine.
