@ranelittle: Day 13 in the PICU They are continuing to suction Halo every hour and this morning her oxygen dipped again. They increased her to 30% concentrated oxygen at 11 liters to help keep her levels where they need to be. This morning, they gave her a warm bath, combed her hair, and put her in a clean gown. It may seem like something small, but in the middle of everything we’ve been going through, seeing her clean, comfortable, and cared for means so much to me. 🤍 We also had a conversation with her doctors about potentially transferring her to Boston Children’s Hospital for a higher level of specialized care. I’m honestly torn. I feel like getting her to Boston could potentially open more doors and give us access to specialists and resources that could help us better understand what’s going on with her. At the same time, I understand where her doctor is coming from. Transfers can take days to arrange, and hospitals typically prioritize accepting transfers when a child is in critical condition. We don’t want to put Halo through an unnecessary transfer if it isn’t medically necessary right now, but as her mom, I also don’t want to look back and wonder if there was something more we could have done. For now we are taking it one day at a time, keeping a close eye on her and advocating for her every day. Thank you to everyone that continues to check on her, pray for her, donate to her GoFundMe and share her story. My hope is that we spread enough awareness about children with rare disorders and CTBP1, that her story is heard worldwide.
