I had this conversation with a friend who is devoted Christian i also asked about the idea of ”the body is a temple” yet he eats bad fast food who he knows it’s bad and there are thousands of “believers” who are fat, unfit and have a hard time walking up 3 sets of stairs. It all seems so strange to me.

In Ezekiel 16:49, the prophet explicitly lists the sins of Sodom: pride, an abundance of food, prosperous ease, and a failure to "strengthen the hand of the poor and needy," which led to divine judgment and destruction. Which is the real reason Sodom was destroyed; Ezekiel (Chapter 16): Reflects back on that destruction and explicitly diagnoses the societal failure, over-abundance, and neglect of the vulnerable as core components of Sodom's iniquity. Which is why you cant take scripture out of context. IT WAS NOT ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY
