Can you ask where “home” is for people who have never felt at home? Since I was a child whenever I am unhappy, distressed or unsettled I always feel like saying “I wanna go home”, even when I am in my own home.

The word home comes from Ham, like hamlet. It’s Anglo Saxon, added to end of places names like Birmingham etc. Well-come could originate to Holy wells which are everywhere during pilgrimage era. Visiting water was seen as healing. I’m writing a book about those 🥰
